Federal ARP-ESSER Funding

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, also called the COVID-19 Stimulus Package or American Rescue Plan (ARP), is a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill passed by the 117th United States Congress and signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, 2021.

New York was allocated nearly $9 billion under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act’s Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund.
On June 18, 2021, Kings Park received final confirmation of the school district’s allocation, which is $1,082,244.

The KPCSD Draft Plan was shared publicly at the June 8, 2021, Board of Education Meeting. Public comments will be accepted through Friday, June 18, 2021. The Board of Education plans on adopting the plan at their June 22, 2021, meeting.

In June 2023, an amendment (FS-10A, see below) was submitted to NYSED.  The ARP ESSER Professional Salaries and Employee Benefits lines were reduced due to staffing changes. This change supported an offsetting increase to the computer equipment line.

In order to engage the community, the Kings Park Central School District released a Community Input survey, on July 20, 2020, asking the community to select important priorities based around the Kings Park CSD Re-entry Committee's PRIDE (Planning, Re-entry, Instruction, Devoted, Education) Principles. This survey assisted in the planning stages of the Kings Park CSD ARP ESSER plan.  Please click here for the link.
